Ihosvanny was born in Moxico, Angola, in 1975. He currently lives and works in Luanda.

Ihosvanny was part of the group “Os Nacionalistas” (the Nationalists). This group is a collective of artists that has been producing work in Luanda, since 1999, in an independent and autonomous way. These works document a series of aesthetic experiences comprising of a diverse artistic range and varied forms.

In 2005, Ihosvanny participated in the Cultural Residence Programme of SOSO LAX (Executive Producer of the Luanda Triennial), which provides atelier space to artists.

Ihosvanny 's work was featured in the Africa Pavillion of the 2007 Venice Biennale.
