Mourad Gharrach, 1982, Tunisia

mourad gharrach > biographyMourad Gharrach is a young french-tunisian artist born in 1982. He graduated from the ’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art et de Design - Saint Etienne in France. Gharrach starting exhibiting his work early in his carreer. He participated in the "Biennale du design de Saint-Etienne" in 2005, the Dakar Biennale in 2008 and "Paris Photo", in 2009.

Mourad Gharrach is an active member of the Greenhouse collective of artists and designers.

Gharrach 's colours are aparently simple: blacks, whites and light pinks, but they seem to explode into superb tones of lights and shadows in his photographs.

In Mourad 's most famous series «Femme Mauresque», «Femmes drapées» and « Vierges du désert », women and desert are recurrent themes. Here, his obsession with detail is well visible in the way he minutiously treats the veils of his Mauresque Women.
